Biographical Information[edit]
Robert Sallinger won Silver with Team USA in the 1972 Amateur World Series. [1] The New York Mets took him in the 23rd round of the 1973 amateur draft. He hit .155/.269/.207 for the 1973 Marion Mets, starting at catcher ahead of Luis Rosado. He split 1974 between the Victoria Toros (.233/.311/.267 in 45 G) and Anderson Mets (.171/.326/.200 in 12 G). He closed out his pro career with the AA Jackson Mets in 1975, batting .224/.309/.313. He later made Saint Leo's Hall of Fame. [2]
