Biographical Information[edit]

Eldon "Rip" Repulski is best known for his play with the St. Louis Cardinals, but he won his only World Series ring as a backup with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1959. He was also on the Boston Red Sox in 1960 during Ted Williams' last season and in 1961 during Carl Yastrzemski's first season. He is one of 20 players to have been a teammate of both Stan Musial and Williams.

He went to Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. He was at St. Cloud State University in 1946 and was the first major leaguer to come from that school. He started his professional career during the first season of the Illinois State League, playing for the West Frankfort Cardinals and leading the league in home runs.

He hit nearly 100 minor league home runs before making his major league debut with the Cardinals in 1953.
