Biographical Information[edit]
Ricky Rivera played college ball at the schools noted above while earning a degree in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia. He went on to graduate school and earned a master's degree in Business Sport Management. While in graduate school, he served as a graduate assistant coach for the 2017-2018 baseball teams at the University of Central Missouri.
The Houston Astros hired Rivera in 2020 to manage the GCL Astros prior to the minor league season being cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Rivera jointly managed the FCL Astros in 2021 with Wladimir Sutil after the Astros combined two FCL teams into one. Rivera managed the FCL Astros Blue in 2022. He moved up to a full-season league as manager of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers in 2023.
