Biographical information[edit]

His career spanned from 1948 to 1952 and from 1954 to 1962. He hit .280 with 1,577 hits and at least 151 home runs. Perhaps his best season was his first - in 1948 with the Morganton Aggies, he hit .342 with 26 home runs.
He managed the Nashville Volunteers in 1961, the Charlotte Hornets in 1962, the Lynchburg Twins in 1970 and the Wisconsin Rapids Twins in 1977. He served as player-coach a few times in his career and was a coach for the Elizabethton Twins (1984-?).
Robbins then spent many years scouting for the Twins (1963-1986).
