Biographical Information[edit]

Randy Bruns reached AAA as a minor league umpire, then came back for one game as a fill-in umpire in the National League in 1991. He worked at the college and international tournament level for many tears.

Bruns worked in the 1978 Gulf Coast League, 1978-1980 Midwest League, 1980-1982 Eastern League and 1982 to 1985 American Association. In 1982-1983 and 1983-1984, he worked in the Dominican Winter League.

Bruns began working in the Big Ten Conference and Big 12 Conference in 1986. He worked the 1987 NCAA Division III World Series, 1992 NAIA World Series, 1999 College World Series, 2003 College World Series and 2006 College World Series. He also was an umpire in the 2002 Pan American Games Qualifying Tournament and 2011 Pan American Games.

Away from the diamond, Bruns has worked as a Financial Advisor. He has also been a football official in NCAA Division III (working the 2007 national championship) and basketball official in Division III, NAIA and high school.
