Biographical Information[edit]

Randi Mallard pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Mallard was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2nd round of the 1996 Amateur Draft, and he was 2-7 with a 3.68 ERA for the Princeton Reds in his first year. He went 3-3 with a 3.83 ERA for the Charleston AlleyCats in 1997, and he had a 9-3 record with a 3.38 ERA for the Burlington Bees in 1998. Mallard also started 12 games for the Chattanooga Lookouts , and his ERA was 4.33 with a 1-4 record. He then slumped to 4-5 with a 6.78 ERA for the Lookouts in 1999, and he also recorded a 6.89 ERA in 6 games for the Clinton LumberKings.

After leaving the Reds system, Mallard went 2-4 with a 6.18 ERA for the St. Paul Saints in 2000, and the Chicago Cubs signed him. However, his ERA was 9.90 in 8 games for the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx, then he went to the Atlantic City Surf. Mallard notched 11 saves with a 3.46 ERA in 43 appearances in 2001, and he pitched 50 games with a 3.19 ERA in 2002. He collected 24 saves with a 3.97 ERA in 2003, then the First Financial Holdings Agan signed him. However, Mallard only pitched 2 games for them, and his professional career ended.
