Biographical Information

Ramon Ramirez was signed by scout Ronquito Garcia for the San Diego Padres in 2000. He spent 2000-2001 with the DSL Padres but was released after posting a 21.60 ERA the second year. After not pitching professionally in 2002, Ramirez was signed by the Cincinnati Reds and sent to the Cagua (VSL) club in 2003. He came stateside in 2004 with the Billings Mustangs. Ramirez was hit with a 50-game steroid suspension in 2006.

Ramirez signed with the Doosan Bears for 2011 but struggled in the preseason. He was released before the season began as Kyung-moon Kim wanted the team to explore other options.
