Biographical Information[edit]
In 2023, Rainiero Coa was appointed as a bullpen catcher of the New York Yankees and returned in 2024 and 2025 in that role. Before that, Coa had been a minor league coach and manager in the Yankees' system.
He played in the Yankees' system from 2010 to 2015 as a back-up catcher and occasional first baseman. In 164 games spread over those six seasons, he hit .240 with 1 homer and 44 RBIs. The highest level he reached was Class A, with the Charleston RiverDogs of the South Atlantic League in 2015. He started coaching the following year.

From 2017-2019 Coa served as the teams' catching instructor. The Yankees promoted him to manager of the DSL Yankees in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league system. Coa served in a dual capacity in 2022. In addition to managing, he also worked as the Yankees Dominican Republic Academy Coordinator.
Coa also has some coaching experience in the winter Venezuelan League. In 2021/2022 he was the bench coach for the Águilas del Zulia. He returned to the team in 2023/2024 as their Quality Control Coach.
