Biographical Information[edit]
In 2023, Rainiero Coa was appointed as the bullpen catcher of the New York Yankees and returned in 2024; before that, he had been a minor league coach and manager in the Yankees' system.
He played in the Yankees' system from 2012 to 2015 as a back-up catcher and occasional first baseman. In 164 games spread over those six seasons, he hit .240 with 1 homer and 44 RBIs. The highest level he reached was Class A, with the Charleston RiverDogs of the South Atlantic League in 2015. He started coaching the following year.
