Biographical Information

Qiang Lin pitched for the Henan Elephants in the China Baseball League. In the 2023 World Baseball Classic, he got into one game, relieving Alan Carter in the 6th with a 4-1 deficit against Czechia, two outs and one aboard. He retired former major leaguer Eric Sogard on a fly to end the inning. In the 7th, he hit Marek Chlup, retired Martin Červenka and walked Matěj Menšík. Haicheng Gong came in and escaped the jam, giving Lin one of two 0.00 ERAs for China in the tourney (the other was from Yuchen Wang); their staff ERA was 15.11.
