Pittsfield Indians

From BR Bullpen

When the Pittsfield Electrics fell into financial disarray and were unable to pay salaries, the people of Pittsfield put together an effort to buy the club and the team's debts. Managed by Lloyd Brown, the club finished seventh in the 8-team Canadian-American League at 49-81-1, just 3 and a half games ahead of the last-place Three Rivers Royals. Last in attendance (28,668) in the league, they were outscored 805-628, finishing 6th in both offense and pitching/defense. Brooks Lawrence (11-13, 3.74, 143 BB in 178 IP) and Dick Tomanek (6-8, 3.80, 142 BB, 138 K in 123 IP) overcame their wildness to pitch in the majors eventually.
