Phillip Cuadrado has been a minor league infielder.
Cuadrado made the All-Tournament team at third base in the 2004 NAIA College World Series when Cumberland won its first national title. He was picked by the Colorado Rockies in the 23rd round of the 2005 amateur draft. Assigned to the Tri-City Dust Devils, Phil led Northwest League third basemen in putouts (48), errors (14) and double plays (10, tied). He hit .264/.386/.408 and his 37 walks were two shy of the NWL lead. He was hit by 20 pitches, most in the circuit.
In 2006, Cuadrado put up a .296/.374/.479 line for the Asheville Tourists with 15 homers (second on the team to Cole Garner) and 86 RBI (two shy of team leader Garner). He tied for 9th in the South Atlantic League in batting average.
Phillip bounced between the Casper Rockies (5 for 17, 2 BB, 2B, HR), Tri-City (.355/.452/.545) and the Modesto Nuts (.215/.304/.354) in 2007. Had he qualified, he would have been second in the NWL in average behind Luis Durango.
Let go by the Rockies system, Cuadrado signed with the independent Brockton Rox. In 2008, he hit .308/.379/.454 for them. The next year, he produced at a .286/.340/.454 clip. He was put on the Puerto Rican national team for the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games.
