Petroleros de Zulia
Based in Maracaibo, Venezuela, the Petroleros de Zulia were members of the 1979 Inter-American League. The team went 31-36, 4th in the league, before the circuit folded. When the league ended, the Petroleros and Miami Amigos were the only teams remaining that wanted to continue the financially troubled league. Managed by Pat Dobson, Gus Gil and Luis Aparicio, the team's most prominent names were Kim Allen (.311, 15 SB in 32 G), Mike Stanton (3-2, 2.70) and Luis Aponte (3-5, 5.32). They averaged 1,100 fans per game.
