Biographical Information[edit]

Peter Larson played baseball at Ferrum College for four years and graduated in 2009 with a degree in business management. He completed his playing career in 2011 with the NYSL Federals of the independent Canadian-American Association.

Larson has been a pitching coach at the high school, college, and professional levels. He began his career at Jamestown High School where he coached for two seasons, including 2011. He spent the 2014 season with the Collegiate High School Cougars in Richmond, Virginia before moving on to the college ranks.

The Minnesota Twins hired Larson in 2019 as a rehabilitation pitching coach. In 2020 Larson was scheduled to be the pitching coach for the Cedar Rapids Kernels before COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the minor league season. Larson was the pitching coach for the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels in 2021 and the Wichita Wind Surge in 2022. Larson helped guide the Wind Surge to one of the top pitching staffs in Double-A. His staff finished with the fewest home runs allowed in Double-A (127), sixth in ERA (4.13), and ninth in strikeouts (1311). He continued to climb the minor league ladder while working as the pitching coach for the St. Paul Saints in 2023. The 2023 version of the Saints tied for the third fewest home runs allowed in Triple-A (147), fourth best ERA (4.59), and a franchise record 1,354 strikeouts. Larson returned to the Saints in 2024.
