Biographical Information[edit]

Per Lindgren has played for the Swedish national team for about 15 years.

In the 1994 Baseball World Cup, Lindgren played one inning in center field and pinch-ran once. He went 1 for 8 with four strikeouts in the 1999 European Championship. He hit .267/.333/.267 in the 2001 European Championship, finishing second on Sweden in average. In the 2003 Elitserien (the first season for which stats are available online), Lindgren hit .448/.523/.692 for the Sundbyberg Heat. He led the league in slugging, OBP, RBI (40) and triples (9, 5 more than anyone else). He was second to Magnus Pilegård in average and second to Rickard Ljung in runs scored with 38.

He batted .346/.393/.423 in the 2003 European Championship. He stole two bases in two tries. He finished 13th in average between minor leaguers Chairon Isenia and Nick Theodorou. In 2004, the Heat star fell to .292/.444/.386 at the plate but had 6 assists in 25 games in center field. He batted .316/.437/.417 in '05. He hit .294/.400/.471 in the 2005 European Championship and had 4 outfield assists in 7 games.

Lindgren was 3 for 7 with a walk and a double in the 2005 Baseball World Cup while splitting time with three other left fielders. In 2006, he hit .335/.433/.442 for Sundbyberg with 36 runs and 35 RBI, third in the league behind Philip Gajzler and Will Rikard. Lindgren hit .304/.453/.496 in 2007 with 23 walks. In the 2007 European Championship, Per batted .250/.250/.300 for Sweden. In '08, his batting line for the Heat read .298/.411/.402 and he scored 32 times.
