Biographical Information[edit]
Pedro Garcia played five seasons in the major leagues. As a rookie with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1973, he tied for the American League lead in doubles. Although leading the league with 32 doubles (tied with Sal Bando), the total is the lowest league-leading total in American League history. Despite his doubles prowess, he did not make the 1973 Topps All-Star Rookie Team, being beaten out for the second base slot by Davey Lopes.
He played for the Hawaii Islanders in 1978 and also played baseball in the Puerto Rican League. He tied for the league lead in doubles twice; in 1978-1979, his 14 tied Efraín Vázquez. His 18 tied Rusty Torres in 1981-1982.
