Biographical Information[edit]
Patrick Anderson played ball at Brevard College and Mars Hill University. He graduated from the latter in 1996 with a degree in Health and Physical Education/Fitness. Before completing his college degree he started on a professional career in the independent Frontier League where he played for the Zanesville Greys (1995-1996) and Chillicothe Paints (1997). Overall he hit .287/.382/.336 while appearing in 181 games.
Anderson joined the coaching ranks in 1996 as a part-time assistant coach at Gannon University. Apart from playing, he spent 1997 as a coach for the Baseball Factory in Ellicott City, MD. Coaching became his full-time occupation in late 1998 when Hofstra University hired him as an assistant coach.

In 2008 Anderson worked most of the year as a hitting coach for the Burlington Royals. He left Burlington in early August to become head coach at Hofstra. Anderson led the Pride through 2011 when he resigned to take a position as a consultant to the general manager of the Hagerstown Suns. He continued with the Washington Nationals organization through 2020 in a managerial capacity which is outlined below. After the 2014 season, he also worked as a coach for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League. In 2020 Anderson was pegged to lead the Auburn Doubledays until the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
With an expected reduction in the number of minor league teams in 2021, the Nationals released some coaches which included Anderson. He then caught on with the Princeton WhistlePigs in the retooled Appalachian League for the 2021 season. In 2022 the St. Louis Cardinals hired Anderson to manage the Peoria Chiefs.
