Biographical Information[edit]

Pat Farrell played two seasons in the New York Mets organization as a back-up catcher, after being drafted in the 32nd round of the 2010 amateur draft out of Regis University in Denver, CO. He was coming off a great season during which he hit .386 with 20 homers and 55 RBI, being named a Division II second-team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association . A former high school and American Legion player in Wyoming, he had enrolled at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas after playing for Colby Community College, but spent his only year there as a medical redshirt and decided to transfer to Regis.

He started his professional career with the Kingsport Mets in 2010, where he went 5 for 19 with a homer, 5 RBI and 8 strikeouts (.263) in 5 games, and also played that year for the Brooklyn Cyclones (2 for 15, 6 K in 7 games) and Savannah Sand Gnats (4 for 23, 14 K in 6 games). He was back with Savannah, in the South Atlantic League, at the start of the 2011 season, where he played 8 games, going 2 for 21 with a walk and a double (.095). He voluntarily retired near the end of the 2011 season. . He had hit .167/.177/.256 in 79 plate appearances as a pro, with 2 home runs.

In 2012, Farrell played in France's Division Elite, with the Templiers de Sénart. Gifted with a very strong throwing arm, he was also used as a third baseman and occasional pitcher with the team from the southern suburbs of Paris.
