Biographical Information

Orlando Ximello pitched for the Potros de Tijuana of the Mexican League in 2008. In 21 games, he posted a record of 1-3 with a 3.61 earned run average. For 2009, Ximello pitched for the Olmecas de Tabasco where he saw action in just one inning and gave up three earned runs.

Ximello was the last active player in Organized Baseball with a last name starting with the letter "X". He is just the sixth professional player in history to have a last name starting with "X". The others were Alfred Xavier (1930), Leovigildo Xiques (1945), Ramon Xiques (1951-1952), Charles Xiques (1954), and Joseph Xavier (1985-1990). None of them made it to the Majors though Joseph Xavier had spent time at AAA.
