Orientales (Cuban Winter League)

From BR Bullpen

The Orientales played one year in the Cuban Winter League, but were really the Almendares entry under a different name for a year. They played in Oriental Park and went 8-6 to win the title by a 1 1/2 game over the other two entries. The star was two-way performer Dolf Luque, winning the batting title (.355) and tying for the lead in wins (4). He also led in shutouts (2) and tied for the lead with 3 doubles. Armando Marsans served as the team's manager, but hit just .212 in the outfield.
