Cuban Baseball: A Statistical History
Cuban Baseball: A Statistical History was published in 2003 by McFarland & Co. Written by Jorge Figueredo, it provides statistics for every Cuban Winter League season, covering the years from 1878-1961 that this league was in operation. It also provides scores and some details about visits to Cuba by Negro League teams, Major League Baseball teams and minor league teams. Additionally, statistics for the Havana Cubans and Havana Sugar Kings and every Caribbean Series during the period are provided. The book lacks some basic data which is available for many years (such as walks, ERAs, etc.) but is an excellent reference source of which there is no like. One other serious flaw is the constant harping on politics and bashing of Fidel Castro's regime, which is irrelevant to the subject at hand.
