The Almendares club participated in basically every Cuban Winter League seasom from 1878-1961. Usually known as the Almendares Blues, they became the Almendares Scorpions in their last decade or so. Based ouf of Havana, they were 1,522-1,304 in 71 seasons, second to the Havana Reds' 74 and 44 more than any other club. Their .539 winning percentage was the best of any CWL team to play more than 11 years and they were only 31 wins behind Havana for the all-time lead.
