Biographical Information[edit]
Canadian-Israeli Oren Gal played in the 2007 Israel Baseball League for the Modi'in Miracle, hitting .188/~.235/.188. In the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers, he was with the Israeli national team, hitting .529/.579/.765 while hitting in the heart of the order and manning second base. He was among his qualifier's leaders in average (second), slugging (second to Slobodan Gales, OBP (tied with Gales for second), runs (6, tied for 3rd), hits (9, 1st), RBI (4, tied for 5th), doubles (4, tied for first), total bases (13, 2nd to Gales) and steals (2, 3rd). The biggest negative was 3 errors in 4 games. Gal's work earned him the qualifier's MVP award even though Israel did not win the event (Croatia did). In 2009, Gal played for the Oshawa Dodgers in the Intercounty Baseball League in his native Canada.
