Occidentales (Series Selectivas)

The Occidentales joined the Series Selectivas in 1992-1993 and went 23-22 their first year. Key performers included batting champion Gerardo Miranda (.390) and ERA leader Omar Ajete (2.33). In 1993-1994, the club won the pennant at 27-18 under the guidance of Jorge Fuentes. They were led by Juan Carlos Linares, who led the loop in average and RBI and José Estrada, who led in runs. Ajete led the league in wins (7) and strikeouts (55).

In their last season, 1994-1995, the Occidentales were 26-18, 2 1/2 games behind the champion Orientales. They included hit leader Alexander Ramos (72) and pitchers Pedro Luis Lazo and José Contreras.
