Biographical Information

Norwith Gudiño pitched in the minor leagues and for the Venezuela national baseball team.

Gudiño was signed by the San Francisco Giants in October 2014, and he went 2-2 with a save and a 3.52 ERA in 2015 for the DSL Giants. He improved to 3-3 with a 2.84 ERA in 2016, and he had a solid 1.82 ERA in 13 starts with a 6-1 record in 2017. He had 83 K and 10 BB in 74 1/3 IP, pacing the Dominican Summer League in strikeouts (3 ahead of Freisis Adames). He slumped to 4-4 with a 5.36 ERA for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in 2018, and he had a 4-2 record with a 3.45 ERA for the Augusta GreenJackets. He also pitched 1/3 of an inning for the Leones del Caracas in winter. Gudiño was suspended for 80 games in April 2019 because he tested positive for Stanozolol, and he had a 0.77 ERA for the Volcanoes and a 0.60 ERA in 5 games for the GreenJackets in that season. The coronavirus then shut down the minor leagues, and Gudino recorded a 6.75 ERA in 11 appearances in Caracas in the winter.

The Carabobo native notched 5 saves with a solid 1.44 ERA in 17 games for the Richmond Flying Squirrels in 2021, but his ERA rose to 5.66 in 15 games for the AAA Sacramento River Cats. He completed a no-hitter with Conner Menez, Tyler Cyr and Trevor Gott against the Salt Lake Bees on September 3. Gudino allowed 5 runs in 3 2/3 innings for the Leones in winter ball, and he struggled in 2022 as his ERA was 8.87 in 26 games in Sacramento. He was 2-0 with a 4.19 ERA in the winter, and he pitched 4 innings with an unearned run allowed in the 2023 Caribbean Series.

Gudino represented Venezuela in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, but he didn't pitch any games. The Boston Red Sox signed him in 2023, and he was 4-4 with a 5.73 ERA for the Worcester Red Sox. He briefly made the majors as the 27th man for a game. His ERA was 3.46 in 26 games in the winter, and the Sultanes de Monterrey signed him in 2024.
