Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Noel Jenke was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the first round of the 1969 amateur draft as the 13th overall pick, but his baseball career peaked at the AAA level. He debuted at AAA with the 1969 Louisville Colonels and hit .263/~.306/.316 while fielding only .917, the lowest mark by an International League outfielder that season. In 1970, he again fielded .917 with Louisville and batted .263/~.364/.447. With the Winston-Salem Red Sox, he hit .156/~.325/.188 in 13 games. He finished his baseball career with a .238/~.354/.351 line with the Pawtucket Red Sox in 52 contests and made just one error. Afterwards, he left baseball for pro football. He played four seasons in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, and Green Bay Packers.

In college, he had also been drafted by the National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks, per some sources, becoming the only player to be drafted by the MLB, NFL and NHL. He's one of only four players to be drafted by three of the four main sports leagues, with Dave Winfield, Dave Logan and Mickey McCarty being drafted by the MLB, NBA and NFL.
