Biographical Information[edit]

Mickey McCarty was drafted by teams from four professional leagues. The Cleveland Indians took him in the 25th round of the 1968 amateur draft as a pitcher, while the National Basketball Association's Chicago Bulls drafted him that year as well. The National Football League's Kansas City Chiefs drafted him in 1969. The American Basketball Association's Dallas Chaparrals also drafted him.

He did not play baseball professionally, instead spending a year with the Chiefs. He was a tight end. Along with Dave Winfield and Dave Logan, he is one of only three people to be drafted by MLB, the NBA and the NFL.
