Biographical Information[edit]

Niels van Weert has been a Hoofdklasse infielder.

In 2005, van Weert hit .198/.319/.198 as the starting second baseman for Almere, fielding .933. He tied for second in the Hoofdklasse in both assists (96) and errors (12) at 2B. He was only 7 for 52 (all singles) with 3 walks in a pitiful 2006, while being used as a utility infielder. In 2007, he batted .196/.246/.234 and fielded .872 at 3B, the lowest mark of any starting third baseman in the corner. He did not play in the Hoofdklasse in 2008-2009.

In 2010, he played for Corendon Kinheim, hitting .218/.377/.309 and fielded .971. He improved to .315/.438/.384 and fielded .927 in 2011. He fell to .233/.377/.244 and fielded .981 in 2012. In the 2012 Holland Series, though, he was excellent as Kinheim's DH, going 7 for 17 with a double and three runs in four games to help lead Kinheim to an upset sweep of DOOR Neptunus.
