Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman/outfielder Nick Williams played several seasons in the Pacific Coast League before beginning his managerial career. He spent 1915 as an umpire in the Pacific Coast League and served in the military during World War I. He was a scout for the San Francisco Seals for a few years before managing Logan in 1926, then moving up to manage the Seals. He managed the Seals from 1926 to 1931, capturing two PCL crowns. However, he was fired by the Seals shortly after winning the 1931 championship for "unsatisfactory personal habits" (which, apparently, was his involvement in a drunken brawl).
