Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Nick Neidert was a second-round pick in the 2015 amateur draft by the Seattle Mariners out of a high school in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA. He began his professional career that season with the AZL Mariners, going 0-2, 1.53 in 11 starts. In 2016, he was 7-3, 2.57 in 19 starts for the Clinton LumberKings of the Midwest League, a very solid performance given his age and limited experience. In 2017, he began the season in the California League with the Modesto Nuts and continued to do well, going 10-3, 2.76 in 19 starts. However, he hit a bump after a late-season promotion to the Arkansas Travelers of the AA Texas League, where he was just 1-3, 8.10 in 6 starts.

On December 7, 2017, he was traded to the Miami Marlins alongside fellow prospects Robert Dugger and Christopher Torres in return for major league 2B Dee Gordon.
