Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Nick Gorneault was drafted by the Anaheim Angels in the 19th round of the 2001 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Jon Bunnell and began his pro career in 2001 with the Provo Angels, where he hit .315 with 6 homers and 30 RBIs. He spent the next year with the Cedar Rapids Kernels and led the club with a .289 batting average. He began 2003 with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and hit .321 with 72 RBIs before being promoted to the Arkansas Travelers. With Arkansas, he continued to show his offensive prowess, hitting .345 in 29 games. Returning to the Travelers in 2004, he led the club with 21 home runs and 81 RBI before a late-season promotion to the Salt Lake Stingers.

In 2005, Gorneault clubbed 26 homers for Salt Lake and led the Pacific Coast League with 108 RBIs but did not earn a call-up to the majors. Returning to AAA in 2006, his numbers dropped off a bit to 15 home runs and 78 RBIs, and he spent time on the disabled list. He began 2007 back with the re-named Salt Lake Bees but was promoted to the Los Angeles Angels in late June. He went hitless in two games for the Angels, but walked once and scored one run before being returned to Salt Lake. These turned out to be his only big league games.

Gorneault, who has hit more than 130 minor league home runs, played for the Round Rock Express in the PCL in 2008.

After his playing career ended, he became a scout, signing Sean Newcomb for the Angels.
