Biographical Information[edit]
Nick Dawson pitched for the New Zealand national team.
Dawson came to the US for college and his team won the NJCAA World Series in 2010. In 2011-2012, he had a 7-7, 3.68 record overall for Doane College. In the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he made one appearance, in a 10-6 semifinal loss to the Philippines national team. He replaced Jamie Wilson in the bottom of the 8th with a 10-2 lead. He retired Leighton Pangilinan but then walked Fernando Laurel and allowed a single to Andres Borromeo. Errors by Daniel Lamb-Hunt and Boss Moanaroa on the next two plays let in two unearned runs. Joseph Boyce relieved and let both inherited runners score for the final 10-6 margin of victory.
