Biographical Information[edit]

Leighton Pangilinan has been a minor league infielder.

Pangilinan hit .476 with 9 HR and 42 RBI in 27 games as a high school senior, with a record of 2-0, 2.19 on the hill. He was picked by the Chicago White Sox in the 40th round of the 2009 amateur draft; the scout was Adam Virchis. He made his pro debut with the Bristol Sox and hit .299/.327/.451 while starting at first base. The Californian produced at a .289/.336/.430 clip as a part-timer for the 2010 Great Falls Voyagers. He split 2011 between Great Falls (.286/.310/.395, 19 RBI in 29 G) and the Kannapolis Intimidators (.203/.235/.328 in 19 G). With Kannapolis in 2012, he hit .225/.299/.342 with 127 whiffs in 444 AB and made 17 errors at 1B. He tied for third in the South Atlantic League in strikeouts. He then joined the Philippines for the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers.
