Biographical Information[edit]

Nic Wilson began his college playing career at Hofstra University but only appeared in three games his first year. He transferred to Eastern Arizona College where he earned all-conference honors. Wilson moved to Georgia State University for his final two seasons where his father had once worked as the head basketball coach. As a senior he hit 18 home runs which ranked fourth in the nation.

The Tampa Bay Rays selected Wilson in the 24th round of the 2014 amateur draft. Wilson played in the lower levels of the Rays' minor league system in 2014 and 2015 with the Princeton Rays and Hudson Valley Renegades. He completed his playing career with the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers of the United Shore League from 2016-2017.

Wilson joined the baseball coaching ranks when he spent the 2018/2019 season as an assistant coach at Eastern Kentucky University. In 2020 the Colorado Rockies hired Wilson for the Boise Hawks hitting coach position before COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the minor league season. Wilson was the hitting coach for the Fresno Grizzlies in 2021-2022.
