Biographical Information[edit]
Nattapong Sampahangsit played in the 2005 Southeast Asian Games and 2006 Asian Games. In the 2007 Baseball World Cup, he was Thailand's cleanup hitter and third baseman. He went 5 for 19 with eight strikeouts and a double (the two-bagger coming off Norberto Gonzalez of Cuba, no less). He tied Chidsanu Janrak for the team lead in hits and tied Somsak Sarnwit with the most extra-base hits (Sarnwit also had a double). He fielded .929 at the hot corner. He played in the 2007 Asian Championship as well and helped Thailand to Gold in the 2007 Southeast Asian Games. He is with Thailand for the 2010 Intercontinental Cup.
He is the brother of fellow Thai national team player Nattapong Meeboonrod.
