Biographical Information

Natsuki Takeuchi has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Takeuchi was 4-0 with a 0.68 ERA and won the MVP of the Tohto University Base Ball League in 2022 fall league. The Seibu Lions, Yakult Swallows and Softbank Hawks selected him in the first round of the 2023 NPB draft, and the Lions won the lottery for the right to him; the scout was Ken Togame. Takeuchi soon became Seibu's ace as a rookie, and he was 10-6 with a 2.17 ERA and 107 strikeouts. He ranked 2nd in the Pacific League in ERA (.29 behind Livan Moinelo), 7th in wins (tied with Tatsuya Imai, Roki Sasaki, Takayuki Kato and Sachiya Yamasaki) and 5th in winning percentage (tied with Yamasaki). He won the 2024 PL Rookie of the Year, getting 242 of 259 votes; Seiryu Kotajima was next with 16.
