Nate Vopata played in the minor leagues and the Taiwan Major League.
Vopata was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 16th round of the 1995 Amateur Draft, and he hit .281/.355/.403 for the Hudson Valley Renegades in his first season. Despite playing only part of the year, he tied Mark Little and Marc Sagmoen for second in triples (8) in the Rangers chain. He also tied Mark Budzinski and Bret Mueller for 4th in the New York-Penn League in that department. He recorded a .251/.304/.372 batting line for the Charleston RiverDogs in 1996 while fielding .935 at short, then the Rangers released him.
Vopata hit .237/.287/.425 with the Madison Black Wolf in 1997, and he improved to .306/.351/.466 with 9 homers in 1998; his five three-baggers tied for the Northern League lead. His batting line fell to .239/.282/.410 with the Sioux Falls Canaries in 1999, and he crushed 8 homers with a .296/.344/.427 batting line for the Solano Steelheads in 2000. After hitting .236/.304/.389 in Solano in 2001, Vopata signed with the Taipei Gida and he played 17 games with a .318/.395/.591 batting line. He then played 79 games with a .273/.337/.346 batting line for the Sonoma County Crushers, and his batting line was .276/.345/.362 with the Camden Riversharks in 2002. Vopata announced his retirement after the 2002 season.
