Biographical Information[edit]
Nate Smith was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1956. He played for the Omaha Dodgers in 1962, and on September 10th that year, the Baltimore Orioles bought him. He appeared in the majors with the Orioles in 5 games from September 19-29.
Gus Triandos had been the regular Orioles catcher for years, but hit only .159 in 1962 and would be traded after the 1962 season. John Orsino became the regular Orioles catcher in 1963.
