Biographical Information[edit]
John Orsino was the head coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1970-1976. He then managed in the Cleveland Indians' chain for a year and a half at the AA level with the Jersey City Indians in 1977 and the Chattanooga Lookouts for part of 1978. In 1980, Orsino returned to FDU for one more season.
On August 23, 1961, he was one of a record five San Francisco Giants players who homered in the 9th inning against the Cincinnati Reds in a 14-0 win. The other home run hitters were Orlando Cepeda, Felipe Alou, Willie Mays and Jim Davenport. Orsino's three-run blast was the last of the five.
