Biographical Information[edit]
Nana Ishimura has pitched for the Japanese women's national team.
Ishimura debuted for Japan in the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup and did very well for the titlists. Against Hong Kong, she pitched four hitless, walkless, scoreless innings in a win; Nanami Ono took over. She hit Chee-ar Lui to avoid a perfect outing. She also pitched three shutout innings against a tougher opponent, Venezuela, allowing one hit and walking none before Ono again relieved. She got a second victory. Her .050 opponent average easily led qualifiers; Loes Asmus was next at .109. She was third in ERA (Yu-Ying Hsieh and Rina Taniyama were also at 0 in more innings) and tied for third in wins, one behind Ayami Sato and Chia-Yun Huang. [1]
She throws a fastball (peak 75 mph) and change-up (peak 50 mph). [2] She has been on the Hanshin Tigers women's team. [3]
