Biographical Information[edit]

Myeong-ho Jin pitched in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korea national baseball team.

Jin was drafted by the Lotte Giants in the 2nd round of the 2009 KBO draft, and he spent his first season in the minors. He allowed 16 runs in 7 1/3 innings in 2010, and he was sent to the Canberra Cavalry after that season; his ERA was 1.74 in 9 games in the 2010-2011 Australian Baseball League. Jin had a 4.18 ERA in 31 games in 2011, and he improved to a 3.45 ERA in 23 games in 2012. He then represented Korea in the 2012 Asian Championship. Jin pitched a shutout inning against China, then he allowed a run in an inning against Japan. Korea won Bronze in the event.

The Jeonju native only pitched 4 games with the big club in 2013 due to back injury, then he missed the next two years because of military service. He underwent shoulder surgery in 2016, and he missed most of the next two seasons. Jin came back in 2018, and he notched 9 holds with a 4.38 ERA in 60 games. He then pitched 60 games with 9 holds again in 2019, and he lowered his ERA to 3.41 this year. However, Jin slumped to a 7.18 ERA in 37 games in 2020, and he recorded a 4.81 ERA in 33 games in 2021. Jin's ERA was 6.06 in 16 appearances in 2022, then he announced his retirement.

Overall, Jin was 13-14 with a 4.84 ERA, and struck out 297 in 325 1/3 innings in 10 seasons in the KBO.
