Biographical Information[edit]
Brother of Jewel Ens, Mutz Ens broke into the major ten years before his brother. Along with Mutz Ens, other rookies on the Chicago White Sox of 1912 included Buck Weaver, Jack Fournier, and Ray Schalk.
In 1911 he made a claim for payment of unpaid wages (11 days) by the Galesburg club. The Commissioners agreed and ordered the club to pay him.
His last professional season was 1917, but he continued to play semi-pro ball. In 1921 he was manager and first baseman for the champion Belleville, IL Maxwells of the Missouri-Illinois League, hitting a league-leading .429.
