Biographical Information

Mike Smith joined the Brother Elephants in 2009, allowing four earned runs in five innings during his May 29 debut. He is the third major league pitcher born Michael Anthony Smith; the other two were teammates in the Cincinnati Reds organization in the 1980s. For 2012, he signed as a player-coach for Grosseto in Italy. He had a rocky debut as the Opening Day starter, allowing 8 runs and 11 hits in 5 innings in a loss to the De Angelis Knights.
