Biographical Information[edit]
Mike Neill was a backup for Team USA in the 1999 Pan American Games. He went 2 for 7 but came up big in the 10th inning of the semifinals. With a 1-1 tie against the Mexican national team and a spot in the 2000 Olympics up for grabs, Neill pinch-hit for Travis Dawkins and singled off of Vicente Palacios to bring home Marcus Jensen with the winning run.
Mike was the first player in Villanova University history to record more than 100 hits in a season. Mike was the second major leaguer from his high school - the first being Delino DeShields.
