Biographical Information[edit]
William Herbert "Mike" Massey appeared in 31 games for the 1917 Boston Braves, and played second base. His competition at the position included Johnny Rawlings, who was one year older, and the 35-year-old Johnny Evers, who had been a hero with the Miracle Braves in 1914.
In the minors, he had ten years, mostly playing in the South.
He is one of three big leaguers, through 2019, with the last name Massey. The others are Bill Massey and Red Massey.
