Biographical Information[edit]

Big Bill Massey appeared in 13 games for the Cincinnati Reds in 1894.

He hit .283 in a league which hit .309.

Massey had an extremely long minor league career, apparently starting in 1887 with Lincoln in the Western League. He finished up in 1909. During the intervening time he played almost everywhere: Toronto, Montreal, Kansas City, Hartford, Buffalo, Scranton, Rochester, Ottawa and other places.

He is one of very few major leaguers who died in the Philippines.
