Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Mike Fransoso played college ball at the University of Maine and graduated with a degree in marketing. The Pittsburgh Pirates drafted Fransoso in the 27th round of the MLB 2013 amateur draft. He played in the Pirates system from 2013-2015, reaching High A in his last year. Fransoso moved to the independent leagues and played two years each for the Rockland Boulders and Somerset Patriots. He also played for the Canberra Cavalry of the Australian Baseball League in the 2018-19 season.
Fransoso was scheduled to be the Everett AquaSox hitting coach in the Seattle Mariners system before the coronavirus pandemic caused the minor league season to be cancelled. He served as the hitting coach for the ACL Mariners in 2021, the Modesto Nuts in 2022, Everett in 2023 and the Arkansas Travelers in 2024. In the latter year, Fransoso replaced manager Christian Colon on August 13th and led the Travelers to the Texas League championship. No explanation was offered for the change in leadership.
