Biographical Information[edit]
Mike Demetral played for the Greek national team, like his brothers Chris Demetral, Scott Demetral and Ted Demetral. His uncle Jim Essian played and managed in the majors and managed Greece.
Mike was an outfielder at Western Michigan. In 2002, he hit .167/.278/.233 in 19 games. He followed with a .245/.333/.302 batting line in 24 games in 2003, .159/.315/.227 in 25 games in 2004 and .211/.250/.263 in 14 games as a senior. [1] He played for Greece in the 2005 European Championship, replacing his brother Chris at short late in a 6-5 win over Croatia and did not get to bat in his only game. [2]
