Mike Connolly pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Connolly was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 19th round of the 2000 Amateur Draft, and he went 1-2 with a 2.29 ERA for the GCL Pirates in his first year. He went 11-7 with a 3.94 ERA for the Hickory Crawdads in 2001, and he had a 10-3 record with a 2.94 ERA for the Lynchburg Hillcats in 2002. Connolly was 7-8 with a 3.39 ERA for the Altoona Curve in 2003, but he slumped to 8-7 with a 4.71 ERA in 2004.

After recording a 3.32 ERA with a 5-6 record in Altoona, Connolly reached AAA in 2005; he was 2-4 with a 4.42 ERA in 13 starts for the Indianapolis Indians. His ERA rose to 6.48 in 4 games for the Indians in 2006, and he went 7-8 with a 4.98 ERA for the Curve. Connolly also had a 4-1 record with a 2.61 ERA for the Pastora de Occidente in winter. The Kansas City Royals then signed him with a minor league contract, and he was 4-7 with a 5.22 ERA for the Wichita Wranglers. He then had a 2-4 record with a 4.65 ERA for the Bravos de Margarita, and the Sinon Bulls signed him. However, Connolly allowed 24 runs in 13 innings in 2008, then he was released. He then went 3-4 with a 6.81 ERA for the Bridgeport Bluefish, and he had a 4.05 ERA in 4 starts for the Aguilas del Zulia. Connolly announced his retirement after the 2008 season.
