Biographical Information[edit]

Mike Boulanger began his coaching career at Broken Arrow High School in 1971. He was an assistant at the University of Oklahoma in 1977-1981. He was then the head baseball coach at Oklahoma City University from 1982 to 1983, returned to Oklahoma as an assistant in 1984-1987 and was the head coach at the University of Southwestern Louisiana from 1988 to 1994. In 1985 he led the Liberal BeeJays to the National Baseball Congress World Series championship.

Boulanger was the hitting coach for the Clinton LumberKings in 2003-2004 and the Oklahoma RedHawks in 2005-2006, before taking over as manager and having a 63-48 record in 2006. After the 2006 season, Boulanger was named Texas Rangers minor league hitting coordinator. On June 8, 2011 Boulanger replaced Scott Coolbaugh as hitting coach of the Round Rock Express when Coolbaugh replaced Thad Bosley with the big league Rangers.

In 2012-2013, he moved to the Baltimore Orioles organization as minor league hitting coordinator.
