Biographical Information[edit]
Miguel Véliz has played for the Ecuadorian national team.
He was the All-Star 3B in the 2004 South American Championship, when Ecuador got the Bronze Medal. He also played for Ecuador in the 2005 South American Championship, when they won another Bronze. In the 2006 COPABE qualifiers for the 2008 Olympics, he hit .375/.375/.375 and fielded .963 as Ecuador's starting shortstop. He led the team in average and hits (6) and tied Felipe Valle for the lead with two runs. He was on the Ecuadorian team that wo na Silver Medal in the 2011 South American Championship. In the 2013 Bolivarian Games, he fielded .969 at 2B and hit .167/.200/.208 with 3 RBI and a run for the Bronze Medalists.
